About Dr. Gil Cruz Jr.
Dr. Gil Cruz is currently an Assistant Professor under the Water Resources and Coastal Engineering Group at the Institute of Civil Engineering, University of the Philippines -Diliman. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from UP Diliman and a PhD in Civil Engineering, specializing in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering, from De La Salle University. He is also a faculty affiliate of the UP Environmental Engineering graduate program and serves as the co-head of the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management track


Academic Background
In 2017, Dr. Cruz was selected as an academic fellow of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) for Leadership and Civic Engagement. He was also recognized with the Academic Sustainability Leadership Award by SustainablePH in 2021 for his pioneering contributions to environmental sustainability through research and innovation.
